If you enjoy yoga and wine, look out for opportunities to practice in the vines. Vineyards around the country are offering yoga enthusiasts the opportunity to connect their body and soul with the earth through one-off events or regular spring / summer classes. If the weather is kind and you can practice outside there’s nothing better than listening to the sounds of nature while watching the constantly changing sky.
Tinwood Estate in Sussex has weekly outdoor yoga classes running from May with their in-house instructor, Jade (the tasting room is used as a back-up in the case of bad weather). Also in Sussex, Charles Palmer Vineyards offer regular cellar door yoga run by the Humble Warrior. After a wonderfully relaxing experience you can purchase a glass (or bottle) and enjoy the ambience. Crouch Ridge in Essex have sunset yoga in the vines running on various dates between June and September run by Sam at my Yogi Tribe. Flint Vineyard in Norfolk have teamed up with Waveney Flow for yoga in the vines once a month on Sundays in July, August and September when you can enjoy one hour and 15 minutes. a 30 minute wine tasting and seasonal lunch. Pattingham Vineyard in Staffordshire is hosting its first morning yoga flow on 7 June (message via Instagram to book). Heron Farm Vineyard's Wellness Hub in Devon hosts regular yoga and pilates.
Keep an eye out for special events combining yoga and wine tasting – but be quick because they sell out quickly! Mereworth in Kent added a second Sip & Stretch on 26th May after the popularity of their first event. The session includes 60 minutes of yoga, a delicious brunch board and a tasting of 3 wines. Greyfriars Vineyard in Surrey are running Yoga and wine tasting on 12th June – enjoy beautiful vineyard views, a yoga flow class and a guided tasting of 3 wines accompanied by a cheese board. What a perfect evening! There's also a fabulous Yoga and wine afternoon running at Ryedale Vineyards in Yorkshire where a tour & tasting will be followed by a 75 minute all-level yoga class run by The Radical Health Co.
Let’s hope we continue to see more wellness and wine combinations appearing on vineyard calendars. Namaste.
