It’s definitely shaping up to be a fantastic ‘Fizz February’ with vineyards determined to keep us occupied with an exciting range of sparkling events. I’ve rounded up the ones on my wish list! And remember it’s a great time to visit if you’re looking for the best value as there’s lots of seasonal promotions available – particularly if you have any free time mid-week.
Fizz Favourites
The Jazz Brunch at Mereworth has proved so popular it’s continuing every Sunday! A fabulous brunch menu accompanied by live music provides that perfect relaxed Sunday vibe. Mereworth are also hosting a Global Sparkling Wine Masterclass on 28th February where you can taste their own sparkling wine alongside others from around the world.
Sparkling wine and delicious treats dipped in creamy, melted cheese – sounds perfect. Available to book for 21st February and 7th March.
The Hencote Winter Terrace will be giving rugby fans the perfect place to catch all the action on large screens with a specially curated terrace menu and a range of drinks packages. A great place to soak up the atmosphere and experience every try and tackle!
Due to the popularity of this event, it now takes place monthly including 16th February and 9th March. After a welcome glass of wine (and dog biscuit) you and your furry friend do a guided tour around the vines before returning to the tasting room for a wine flight.
Kick off your weekend with a glass of sparkling wine, canapes and a mini tour of the vines and winery. Then return to the Winehouse for a delicious 3 course meal. Running on selected Fridays including 21 February and 21 March.
The Friday Night Lates continue with some delicious food and great wine. Check the schedule for a different street food vendor each Friday in February.
Enjoy two for one on Wiston’s award-winning tour & tasting until the end of March. Available at 11am on Thursdays and Fridays only. Bookings must be made by emailing cellardoor@wistonestate.co.uk
This February you can book a half price self-guided tour of Bluestone Vineyards. Pick up a beautifully illustrated map from the tasting room which highlights a selection of walking routes around the farm, vineyard and woodlands. Then return for tastings of two delicious sparkling wines.
Final Countdown to Valentines in the vines
Vineyards around the country are pulling out all the stops to make your Valentine’s celebrations special – from casual lunches to extravagant dinners, there’s something for everyone. And with valentines falling on a Friday there’s events happening all weekend. Check the blog for a round up - but be quick as events are booking up fast!
Mother’s Day treats incoming
Lots of vineyards will be hosting Mother’s Day weekend lunches and events. There will be a round up in the next edition of Fizzology – but here’s a couple that already caught my eye and are likely to sell out quickly:
On Saturday 29th March you can create a beautiful hand-tied flower arrangement whilst enjoying a glass of fizz. An expert florist will guide you through the use of gorgeous seasonal flowers.
On Saturday 29th March you can enjoy exquisite wines and a delicious artisan afternoon tea. The experience includes a guided tour of the winery, tastings of still and sparkling wine and afternoon tea in the Glass House tasting room – which you can choose to exit via helter-skelter slide. How fantastic!
